A New Career, Adventure for Karen Maldonado

August 22, 2014

Please join SAC in wishing a fond farewell to departing employee Karen Maldonado, the Service Response Coordinator for the Brown Facilities Management office. After eight years of service to the University, Karen will be working as a school counselor at a middle school in Central Falls. Karen eagerly anticipates this new path in her career. “I grew up in Central Falls, which is why I am very excited to be working in this community. I can’t wait to give back to my community and enrich students’ lives academically and socially.”

Yet as she steps forward into this new experience, Karen fondly recollects her time at Brown. “What I will miss most about Brown will definitely be the amazing people I have had the pleasure to work with. I will also miss walking around the beautiful campus!”

Outside of Brown, Karen has a rich and busy life. “I have a wheaten terrier who is sometimes a lot more difficult to handle than my two year old!” she admits. “I love to spend time with my family, reading, and working out.”

And for dinner? “My favorite food is Mexican. I can’t get enough of it!”

In that vein, SAC wishes a heartfelt "Adios!" to Karen. Best wishes in your new career!
