Sara Matthiesen is a PhD Candidate in American Studies at Brown University. Her project examines struggles over reproduction in the U.S. from the 1970s to the present. She traces the effects of reproductive choice on rights for pregnant women and mothers in the areas of biomedicine, federal corrections, and maternal and child health services.
