Biophysical and Bioinorganic Chemistry
CHEM 0400 L01 [CRN: 23755]Examines aspects of physical and inorganic chemistry relevant to biochemistry: thermodynamics of hydrophobic and hydrophilic interactions, electrically charged membranes, coordination chemistry, active and passive transport, enzyme kinetics and mechanisms, metal-based drugs, and physical methods. Three hours of lecture and five hours of laboratory. Prerequisite: CHEM 0360 and MATH 0100 or 0170. Prerequisite or corequisite: PHYS 0040 or 0060.
Students MUST register for a lecture section and a lab.
