Midyear Completion Ceremony

Every year, Brown University holds a Midyear Completion Ceremony for students completing their degree requirements in December. Scheduled on the first Saturday of the month at 4 pm, the event allows students, family, and friends to celebrate seniors' achievements in an intimate, relaxed setting. The Ceremony features speeches by two students and a brief talk by a member of the faculty. Academic regalia is not worn for this event.

Students completing their degree requirements midyear are issued their diplomas in May of the following calendar year. They may attend the May commencement preceding the December of their degree completion or the May commencement after the December of their completion.

In 2014, the Midyear Celebration will be held on Saturday, December 6, at 4 pm in Salomon Center for Teaching, De Ciccio Family Auditorium. The ceremony will be hosted by Vice President Margaret Klawunn and will feature Provost Vicki Colvin as the faculty speaker. Student orators will be announced.
