Capture Abroad Contest

Each spring, we welcome you to submit creative depictions of your time abroad.  Formats may include, but are not limited to, photography, journal entries, blogs, video, and artwork. The material is judged based on cross-cultural content and artistic and technical quality. How will you capture and share your experience?

2013 Contest Submission Information

The deadline is Friday, March 22, 2013 at 5 pm

Rules & Submission Guidelines

  • You may submit up to three (3) entries total. Entries from both your host country and related travels are acceptable.
  • Please indicate the category (visual/written/other) under which you would like your entry considered. 
  • Written entries should be no longer than 700 words.  Students who are submitting a piece that is longer should select excerpts that total no more than 700 words to provide with the original piece. 
  • The contest judges will select a winning entry for each of the above categories plus an overall winner:
    • Each Category Winner - $50 prize
    • Overall Winner - $100 prize
  • A contest reception will be held later this spring. Details regarding the time and venue of the reception will be given following the contest deadline. We look forward to seeing you all at the reception!

Submission Instructions

Submission of entries will vary by format; additional information is available on the entry form.  Fill out the entry form (PDF)/(DOC) deliver it in a sealed envelope along with hard copies of your submission to:
