The Spirit of Public Service
Saturday, May 25, 11:30 am-12:30 pm. Walkway-North, between Angell & Olive Streets (tent in front of Granoff Center)
Community spirit and a deep commitment to social change have long exemplified Brown students and alumni. Whether running a summer camp for elementary school students, coaching high school urban debate teams, or improving nutrition in rural India, our students engage in community work and scholarship that amplifies the value and meaning of their Brown education. Be inspired by students who have done amazing work locally and globally, and hear from former Swearer Center community program coordinator Kori Schulman '08, who went on to work on President Obama's 2008 Campaign and the 2009 Presidential Inaugural Committee and now serves as the Director of Online Engagement for the White House Office of Digital Strategy. Students, family members, friends, and alumni are all encouraged to attend. This event will include presentations of the Barker and Tow Prizes. Light lunch will be served.
