As Assistant Director of Social Entrepreneurship, Lizzie is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the Social Innovation Initiative's programs. Lizzie develops and runs numerous programs for students exploring social innovation outside of the classroom. She directs the Social Innovation Fellowship, advises students, manages alumni engagement efforts, and runs programs such as Innovate NYC.
Lizzie hails from Newton, Massachusetts, where she grew up in a family of political activists and community leaders. After graduating from Connecticut College, she participated in the JOIN for Justice fellowship, a program for Jewish young adults to develop community organizing skills. She then joined the staff of Stand for Children as a community organizer, building teams of parents, teachers, and community members to take political action on behalf of their schools. After two years of organizing, Lizzie transitioned to Stand for Children's national staff, where she helped develop the capacity of the organization and led efforts to better attract, retain, and develop staff. A training professional, Lizzie has developed a wide range of curricula and facilitated numerous trainings on community organizing, leadership, political campaigning, and strategic planning. Lizzie and her husband live in Providence with their son, Micah.
