The nine-month internship, which runs concurrently with the academic year at Brown, is a key feature of the program, integrating research and theory with hands-on practice.

Some internships will be provided by the partners in the program: the Education Department, the Annenberg InstituteThe Education Alliance, and the Taubman Center.

A suggestive and partial list of other organizations and offices that could provide interesting internship possibilities would include the Providence Mayor's Office, the Providence Public School District's central office , the Rhode Island Foundation , the Big Picture Company, the College Crusade of Rhode Island , and Rhode Island Kids Count.

The curriculum is designed to integrate the internship experience with the classroom, academic component of the program as another way to merge the world of policy practice with theory and research.
