Laboratory Hazards Awareness Training is a 1 hour-long session presented by Brown Environmental Health and Safety. It covers information about general laboratory hazards and protection in Brown’s laboratories. Who Must Attend? Laboratory Hazards Awareness Training is recommended for non-laboratory employees who will, as a result of their duties, periodically enter Brown University research laboratories to perform routine tasks such as maintenance, housekeeping, or repair. The training aims to prepare employees to recognize hazards, protect against those hazards, and react to emergency situations in laboratories. It is the goal of this training to ensure that employees are comfortable entering Brown University research laboratories but at the same time maintaining a healthy respect for the hazards.
