BEO Capstone Projects

Capstone projects help local organizations

This year all 75 seniors in the C.V. Starr Program in Business, Entrepreneurship and Organizations (BEO) are required to complete a capstone project. They work in teams to help local startups, nonprofits, and other organizations solve problems or successfully expand operations. The learning is significant on both sides.

Engineering Honor Society

18 Students Inducted in Tau Beta Pi at Brown

Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society, inducted 18 new members into the Rhode Island Alpha chapter at Brown University on Saturday, December 7. Twelve juniors were inducted along with six seniors.

Among the 12 juniors elected were: Benjamin Basseches ’15, Adam Cohn ’15, Oussama Fadil ’15, Brant Hoffman ’15, Mehrdad Kiani ’15, Casey Meehan ’15, Ivonne Muganyizi 15, Stian Romberg ’15, Alexander Samardzich ’15, Jonah Stanley ’15, Patrick Tae ’15, and Tegan Tingley ’15.


Earthquake Resistant Gingerbread Houses

Seventh Annual SWE Extreme Gingerbread Competition a Success

Extreme Start:

The Brown University Society for Women Engineers held its seventh annual “Extreme Gingerbread House Competition” on Friday, December 6. Sixteen teams of three to five students participated. The designs ranged from the traditional to the modern, and included a triangular-shaped house and several circular/stadium-shaped houses in addition to hexagonal and square-shaped houses.

SWE to Host 7th Annual Extreme Gingerbread House Competition

The Brown University Society for Women Engineers (SWE) will be sponsoring its seventh annual "Extreme Gingerbread House Competition" on Friday, December 6, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Barus and Holley building on 182 Hope Street.
