THE BETSY AMANDA LEHMAN ’77 MEMORIAL AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN JOURNALISM
Awarded to a Brown senior studying journalism or practicing as a journalist  for a campus or professional publication who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments and intellectual ability. The portfolio may include selected publications and/or academic work in the study of journalism, including essays written for Brown classes and senior theses.

Barbara Banks Brodsky Prize for Excellence in Real World Writing Awarded to a full-time junior or senior enrolled at Brown. Submission may come from the spectrum of nonfiction: literary journalism, memoir, or narrative based on travel, science, history, or cultural critique.  Submission of a collection of brief pieces or one long piece should be limited to 3,000 words and must be printed on 8 1/2 “ x 11” paper.
