Dr. Maria Luisa Parra, Senior Preceptor at Harvard, will share methodologies, best practices, and personal experiences applicable to teaching any Heritage Language, a language a student has learned at home, but is not the dominant language spoken outside the home. Dr. Parra will speak on Heritage Language learning and how tapping into students' native language can unlock valuable resources, including learning about their culture, language, and ultimately themselves.
A Deaf Brown Alumnus Shares His Experience Come learn how ASL got started at Brown University, how it opened doors for Thomas, and what it means to be a Deaf ally. Refreshments will be served.
