Miguel Mejides is a Cuban novelist and storyteller who has been recognized as a major voice in Cuban literature. His novels include Weather Men, winner of the Cuban Union of Writers and Artists Prize for 1977; Earth Room; The Garden of Wildflowers; Amanda; and Perversions in the Prado. He has also published a travel book, The Island of Music, and a novella, The Man From Nowhere. His work has been widely anthologized in Europe and the U.S.
