General Pediatric and Community Health
Our Primary Care clinics provide high quality primary care to over 8000 infants, children and youth from our surrounding neighborhoods. We are committed to holistic comprehensive culturally competent family-centered care. Because we recognize that the health of our low-income families depends on more than traditional pediatric medical care, we have built some important partnerships to address the nonmedical issues that impact health. For the past 10 years we have had RI Medical-Legal Partnership for Children which is a unique collaboration with Roger Williams Law School, RI Center for Law and Public Policy, and Hasbro Children’s Hospital. We have 2 lawyers and paralegal who work in our clinics, providing families with legal assistance to address safe and stable housing, access to public benefits, and assuring the education rights of our patients. In addition, HealthLeads, an award winning program that recruits, trains, and supports undergraduate students to work with our families to connect them with concrete resources such as child care, job searches, and English as a second language classes. We also partner with the RI Department of Health and RI Parent Information Network to offer parent consultants who can help families navigate the special education systems. Further we are a RI Project LAUNCH site where they provide evidence based mental health consultation support for primary care practitioners.
