Dr. Francis' research interests include childhood anxiety disorders and factors associated with school-based treatment of youth with psychiatric disorders.


Dr. Francis received her B.S. from the Univerity of Pittsburgh. She attended the doctoral program in clinical psychology at Virginia Tech and completed her predoctoral internship at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. After finishing a NRSA postdoctoral fellowship at Pittsburgh, Dr. Francis took at job at Bradley Hospital and joined the faculty at Brown.

Teaching Experience


Dr. Francis is the Coordinator for Training in Clinical Child Psychology for the clinical psychology internship program at Brown. She also serves as a supervisor for clinical psychology interns rotating through the Adolescent Psychopathology rotation at the Bradley School in East Providence and for the postdoctoral fellow in School-Funded Day Treatment and Violence/Substance Use Prevention. Her teaching interests are in the areas of childhood obsessive-compulsive disorder, school avoidance, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). She runs a yearly seminar series on CBT for child psychiatry fellows.
