My research interests center on using family interventions to help individuals and families adjust to illness, cope with problems that families identify, and navigate relational impasses.


Abigail K. Mansfield Marcaccio completed her BA in History at Smith College, and her PhD in Psychology at Clark University. She completed her psychology residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and her postdoctoral fellowship at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She is currently the director of the Family Research program at Rhode Island Hospital, where she runs several studies on family functioning and mood disorders, supervises residents in family therapy, and provides clinical services to couples and families.
