BABY study- optimizing medical treatment of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome

Best Fed Beginnings Collaborative

Biography

Currently I am a pediatric attending with the Newborn Service Team at Women and Infants Hospital in Providence, RI since September 2009. I provide care to newborns and families and supervise Brown medical students and residents in learning about newborn medicine. My interests include evidence based practices that support breastfeeding and resident and medical student education.

Prior to my work at Women and Infants Hospital I was an outpatient general pediatrician in Cumberland,RI for 6 1/2 years. While there I taught parenting classes in addition to providing primary care across the pediatric age spectrum.

Prior to general practice I completed one extra year of Pediatric Behavior and Developmental training.

My other interests include general parenting, supporting first time parents and using baby sign language to promote early communication with infants, toddlers and children with special needs.
