Brown University’s Commencement is one of the most colorful and enjoyable academic pageants in the country. Alumni and families are welcome to march in the Commencement procession (academic regalia is not required). The Medical School’s Commencement Procession will begin to form in front of Faunce House on Waterman Street (extending back to Thayer Street) on Sunday, May 24, promptly at 9:30 a.m., and will step off at approximately 9:45 a.m.
Once the procession reaches the church, alumni are welcome to attend the Commencement Ceremony, or may enjoy coffee, refreshments and the company of friends at the Hope Club (6 Benevolent Street).
For alumni who have been invited to serve as marshals, it is customary to wear academic regalia—a gown, tam, and hood representative of his or her degree. There is also an option to wear a traditional cutaway with high silk hat and plain white shirt.
Quirk Academic Sales & Apparel
