During the undergraduate years, participation in a variety of courses is recommended. The goal is for our students to achieve competency in the natural, social, and behavioral sciences and in quantitative reasoning, and to provide a foundation for subsequent medical science and clinical courses. At Brown, creative students need not sacrifice the benefits of a rich liberal arts education in order to gain admissions to medical school.

As undergraduates, PLME students may
• work toward an AB or ScB degree in the sciences, or
• fulfill the requirements for an AB degree in the humanities, social sciences, or behavioral sciences, or
• pursue an interdisciplinary concentration, such as public policy or international relations.

Dozens of concentrations are available, or students can design one of their own!
