NSP:PAL mentees have invited a mentor to share in their academic journey and, by doing so, have entered into a partnership. As partners in their education, they have a responsibility to be serious about their academic commitments and open and honest with themselves and their mentors.

Academic Requirements

NSP:PAL is for students pursuing a STEM concentration. However, should a student decide after joining NSP:PAL that she is no longer interested in pursuing a STEM degree, she may continue with her mentor.

Time Requirements

Mentees should plan to spend 1 hour each week with their mentor and 30 minutes each month with a coordinator. Both meetings are meant to be low-stress, low-key interactions to provide students with the opportunity to share their concerns and update their support network on what is going on in their lives.
