Visiting Elective in Diagnostic Women's Pathology at Brown
This 4-week visiting elective program in diagnostic women's pathology at Brown University is designed for pathology residents who wish to expand or enhance their diagnostic skills in women's pathology. This elective provides an integrated experience in gynecologic surgical pathology, gynecologic cytopathology, and breast surgical pathology within a high-volume division composed of eight full-time gynecologic and breast pathologists. Visiting residents also have access to a unique archive of rare and unusual consultation cases, as well as all interdisciplinary tumor boards and educational seminars. The elective can be customized for trainees who are contemplating further subspecialty training and a future career in women's pathology. On-site living accommodations are available. Visiting Elective in Perinatal Pathology at Brown
A 4-week visiting elective program in perinatal pathology at Brown University is designed for pathology residents and pediatric pathology fellows who wish to expand or enhance their diagnostic skills in perinatal pathology or who are contemplating subspecialty training and a future career in perinatal pathology. Resources available include a case load of 2,500 placentas, 200 postmortem examinations, 1,500 cytogenetic samples, and 1,000 examinations of abortuses, embryos and early fetuses. Active participation in weekly divisional teaching conferences, bi-monthly perinatal pathology conferences, monthly perinatal management conferences, and bimonthly multidisciplinary antenatal diagnosis and management (MADAM) conferences further enhance training.
