5th Year Masters Degree (A.M)
The Department of Political Science offers a fifth year Masters degree program to Brown University undergraduates only.
Current students must apply before graduation for the bachelors degree. There are two application forms - the online application and a supplemental paper form which must be approved by the Director of Graduate Studies. A transcript and 2-3 recommendation letters are required. GRE's are not required. Personal statement and resume are optional. Except for the online application, all forms should go to Barbara Bennett in the Graduate School.

The 5th year Masters degree is open to Brown Undergraduates only. The formal requirements for the A.M. are 8 graduate level (2000 and above) POLS courses with a grade of B or better. There are no tracks and no thesis required. Transfer credits are not accepted. Students can take up to two graduate level courses during their undergraduate studies but those courses cannot count toward their concentration requirements. Advisors must be Political Science faculty.
