PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] A recent article in The Washington Post, “The wealth gap is growing, but poor women see one improvement: healthier babies,” highlights the research of PSTC Associate and Associate Professor of Economics Anna Aizer. Despite the widening economic gap in the U.S., disadvantaged mothers have succeeded in narrowing the health gap for their newborns, thanks to assistance from various services as well as social trends like decreased smoking.
