This project compares the children of Peruvian immigrants to Spain with adopted Peruvian children in Spain to discover meaningful contrasts and similarities between the two groups, leading to a better understanding of both adoption and migration. Central to this project is the interrelationship between these two groups: To what extent does the presence of migrant laborers in a host country, particularly if they are from the same region as adopted children, affect the way that host nationals perceive adopted children, and what consequences might this have for the identity development of those children as they grow up in a multicultural nation?
