The Koniecko Elite Camp at Brown University is proud to offer a can’t-miss opportunity for the player looking to take their game to the next level. The goal of the camp is to continue your development as a player while immersing you in and exposing you to a competitive college tennis environment. While technique will be evaluated and addressed, the aim of the camp is to focus on how to play and how best to prepare for college tennis.
With a very strong playing and coaching background, Coach Koniecko is uniquely qualified to lead his Elite camps as the current Brown Head Men’s Tennis Coach. Coach Koniecko enrolled in The Ohio State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. As a five time All-American, (3 singles, 2 doubles) he led his team to four Big Ten regular season and tournament wins in his four years at The Ohio State University. Bryan was awarded the Big Ten Athlete of the Year award back to back in 2008 and 2009, as well as the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2006. As a captain of the Ohio State Tennis Team his senior year, Bryan, won the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Singles Title and was ranked No. 1 in the country individually. Ohio State was also ranked No. 1 in the country his senior year but fell short when the Buckeyes lost in the finals of the NCAA team tournament. As the Head Men’s Tennis Coach at Brown University, he understands and appreciates the variety of college academic and tennis opportunities available to junior players and has designed a camp program geared to sharing his experiences and wisdom.
In addition to the Brown coaching staff, top men’s college coaches from around the country staff the Koniecko Elite Prospect Camp and also share their unique perspectives and experiences on men’s college tennis. They assist Coach Koniecko in a high intensity three-day program designed for top junior boys. All coaches will motivate and educate our campers on how to best prepare for college tennis.
All technique and drill work takes place in a tactical framework. Players will be exposed to all aspects of college tennis training including the following topics:
Evening sessions are small group discussions or seminars devoted to team building and leadership, differences between college and junior tennis, and the recruiting process for all NCAA divisions. We will also discuss academic qualifications and SAT/ACT strategies for high school students interested in highly selective colleges and universities.
With Brown University’s historic campus as a backdrop, campers have a college experience on and off the courts. Campers stay in Brown University dorms and eat all meals in Brown dining halls with tennis instruction taking place on Brown’s eight-court Varsity Tennis Complex and Brown’s four-court indoor facility housed in the Pizzitola Athletic Center.
