ADOCH B'18 Science Trivia Showdown

ADOCH, A Day on College Hill, is a three-day weekend adventure for prospective Brown students held in late April.  ADOCH is a day in which potential Brown undergraduates can visit and engage with campus members before they decide whether or not to matriculate. (Distributed April 11, 2014)

Pre-Health Advising Series

At a school filled with scientists, humanitarians, and health advocates, there are hundreds of Brown students interested in healthcare careers. Brown’s Science Center, through its Pre-Health Advising Series, strives to provide unique and exciting resources for these students. The Pre-Health Advising Series is a group of events intended to give students an inside look at the various opportunities within the healthcare field. The event series is focused on the actual working experience of healthcare students and professionals.

The LaTeX Workshop Series

For the past several Sundays, the Science Center has been filled with students learning how to create, format, and type in the LaTeX typesetting system. The Science Center’s newest workshop is centered on LaTeX, a typesetting system that creates high-quality, technical documents. (Distributed March 29, 2014)

Science Underground Presents: "Freeze Frame: Time-lapse Photography in the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Antarctica" with Jay Dickson

We are very excited to announce the next Science Underground event!

On April 3rd, Jay Dickson, Science Data Analyst in Geological Sciences at Brown University, will be presenting about acquiring time-lapse photography of the McMurdo Dry Valleys in Antarctica. The McMurdo Dry Valleys in Antarctica are the closest analog to the surface of Mars on Earth.

We will kick-off the event with an introduction by James Head, Professor of Geological Sciences at Brown University.
