HHMI-Brown Scholars Program Summer Application 2014

This is a program giving rising second and third year Brown University students a ten-week summer research experience on topics at the cutting edge of biological and biomedical research. Students will work in multidisciplinary groups of eight, with each group working collaboratively on aspects of a single research goal.
Prerequisites to be completed before the summer of 2014: Advanced Placement Biology or Biol0200 Foundations of Living Systems as well as at least one course beyond the introductory course in a related area such as Biology/Biochem (e.g. Genetics, Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology) or similarly relevant courses in physical science, engineering, mathematics, or CompSci.
Components of the Application:
• Applicants must be in good academic standing and provide a transcript, an essay explaining their interest in scientific research and their long-term goals.
• They should also indicate why they have chosen their favored research track within the HHMI-Brown Fellows Program.
• A recommendation letter from one faculty member, preferably a faculty member in a relevant scientific discipline. Please ask for this letter to be sent by e-mail directly to, Linda Walsh <firstname.lastname@example.org> , the HHMI Brown Program Coordinator.
Please note the application deadline to apply is February 15, 2014. Students accepted into the program will receive a $3,000 stipend.
