Tara graduated in May 2001 from Providence College as an honoree of the Hagan Award for Social Work Excellence and an inductee into Alpha Delta Mu Honor Society, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with a minor in Public Service. She is a published author in the Child Welfare League of America’s journal (Child Welfare, Nov2002, Vol. 81 Issue 6, p913-928) and her work experience includes community and economic development; non-profit management and grant writing; and credit and housing counseling through federally funded programs under the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Small Business Administration (SBA). Having spent time living and studying language and culture in Guatemala and staying with families affected by NAFTA activity in Mexico, Tara is bilingual and possesses a strong passion to influence international relations policy specific to the protection of vulnerable populations.
