We invite all prospective students to visit the sights, sounds and history of Brown University through our information session and campus tour programs. Tours last approximately one hour and information sessions approximately 50 minutes. Both are intended to complement one another, and therefore contain different information for prospective students and their families. To maximize your visit, we encourage visitors to attend both, if possible. Although reservations are not required for either, we do recommend reservations for campus tours. To view the current tour and information schedule click here.
All information sessions and campus tours begin at the Stephen Robert '62 Campus Center located at 75 Waterman Street, Providence, Rhode Island. The campus center information desk hours are 8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday.
At Brown we offer the opportunity for prospective students to attend a class, please click here to view the full list of classes. Please do not attend classes that are not on the list of courses approved for visitors, unless you have received prior approval from the instructor.
Physical Science tours are designed to give prospective students a glimpse of what it is like to study Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Math, Applied Math and Geology at Brown. The Physical Science tour does not cover life sciences such as Biology or Neuroscience. The tour visits classrooms and lab spaces and typically lasts about 95 minutes. Please note that prospective students attending a science tour are limited to one guest per student. Also, children under the age of 12 may not participate in the tour. The Physical Science tour will be offered twice daily during the spring of 2014 on weekdays at 12:15 PM and 3:15 PM. Prospective applicants interested in studying Chemistry at Brown are advised to join the 12:15 PM tour as the Chemistry labs are unavailable during the 3:15 PM tour. Register here.
School of Engineering tours are available most Fridays at 2:00 p.m. during the academic year. To arrange a visit, please register here. Tours depart from the Barus and Holley lobby (184 Hope Street).
