Brown in Boston Summer Program
Brown in Boston (BIB) Summer Program is a joint effort between CareerLAB, Alumni Relations, and the Brown Club of Boston. It has two parts: the BIB Internship Program and the BIB Buddy Program. These programs are outlined below and students are invited to apply to participate in one or both of the programs.
Internship Program Overview
The Brown in Boston Summer Internship Program began as a pilot program in 2011. This special program offers paid summer internship opportunities for current Brown undergraduate students at organizations in the Boston metro region that are owned by, managed by or currently employ Brown alumni. The internships are from a range of industries and offer students challenging and engaging experiences which complement curricular pursuits, as well as help define professional goals being considered in preparation for life after Brown.
Brown Buddy Program Overview
The Brown Buddy Program began as a pilot program in 2012 and is a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to build strong relationships with alumni over the summer. The program pairs students with alumni buddies. Alumni buddies serve as a contact for students outside their internship organization who can help with networking, business etiquette skills, exploring work life, successfully transitioning to life after graduation and a resource for navigating the Boston area.
Buddy pairs are expected to meet in person at least twice durin gthe summer at informal one-on-one meet-ups (e.g. grabbing coffee) and at formal program events planned by CareerLAB, Alumni Relations, or the Brown Club of Boston.
