Brown Market Shares Program - Fall Sign Ups Open
The Brown Market Shares Program is happy to announce that sign-ups are now open for our Fall Share. BMSP provides weekly shares of local, sustainable, and delicious produce, eggs, bread, dairy, and meat to members of the Brown community.
The fall season will run 11 weeks from September 19 to December 5 (skipping Thanksgiving). Shareholders are responsible for picking up their share on Thursdays from 12-6pm at the Brown/RISD Hillel (80 Brown St.)
Fall in New England offers a dynamic variety of produce ranging from apples and tomatoes to kale and squash. Additional shares include bread from Seven Stars Bakery, milk, cheese, and yogurt from Narragansett Creamery, and meat and eggs from Pat’s Pastured. Each season also includes a few specialty items such as tomato sauce, salsa, or honey- all prepared by our farmers.
For more information including pricing and sample shares, please visit our website at brownmarketshares.com. There you can also find information about our subsidized share program, available to Brown faculty, staff, and graduate students who qualify.
Spots in the program are limited and sign-ups are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. The deadline to sign up and send in your payment is Tuesday, September 10 at 10 PM.
Open Hours for the Office of Financial Aid
Beginning this Fall, Financial Aid Counselors will regularly be available at two additional campus locations to answer students' financial aid and/or financing related questions. Our counselors are looking forward to introducing themselves to new students, reaching those students who may be hesitant to come by our office, and answering questions students may have related to their finances at Brown (working on campus? studying abroad? buying a computer?). We plan to continue this outreach effort throughout the year and will be assessing the feasibility of additional locations and dates. The Office of Financial Aid on call counselor calendar, including satellite Open Hours, can be accessed via our website here.
