How to Apply to the Infant & Child Mental Health Certificate Program
Offered by the Brown Center for the Study of Children at Risk, The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Women & Infants Hospital, and Brown University Office of Continuing Education
STEP 1
A completed application includes:
- Review Women and Infants’ Hospital Policy Manual
- A signed application
- Statement of interest (no more than 100 words)
- For participants applying for the Clinical and Research track, an additional statement describing your research interests and experience.
- A copy of your transcript from the university which awarded your highest degree; an unofficial, student transcript is acceptable.
- A copy of the applicant's license or a letter from the applicant's current institution verifying you are in the process of obtaining a license in a field or discipline providing services for infants and/or children.
- A copy of your certificate of malpractice insurance. The certificate of malpractice insurance must have the name of the company, policy number, address of insurer, and coverage provided.
- Application fee of $60 in check or money order payable to Brown University with the program title on the notation line.

STEP 2
Upon preliminary acceptance, health records are due and a background check will be conducted per the Women and Infants’ Hospital Policy Manual. Final acceptance in the Infant and Child Mental Health Post-baccalaureate Certificate Program is contingent upon satisfactory review of health records which meet Women and Infants’ established health requirements and the results of the background check.
