Residential Advisor and Orientation Assistant Positions
Summer residential positions are hired through the Office of Residential Life.

Brown Environmental Leadership Laboratory (BELL) Leader Fellows
- Live with staff and students on the Haffenreffer Property
- Work with Property Manager on facilities maintenance and special projects (~15 hrs/wk)
- Facilitate several evening workshops on Leadership
- Facilitate a ropes course each session (training will be provided)
- Plan and facilitate one hour of Recreation Time every evening
- Assist instructors with one academic session / day
- Work closely with instructors to ensure residential aspects of program run smoothly (meals, tents, general policies)
- Participate in staff meetings with Instructors and Director on Saturday before classes begin, once in the middle of two-week session, and once at the end of each session
- Assist with set-up and take-down of facilities at Haffenreffer
- Schedule time off (one day/week) with On-site Director
Compensation:
- Significant professional opportunity in the area of leadership development.
- Stipend $3,000.

- Training and practical experience in community building and leadership provided.
Requirements:
- Enrolled in college and completed at least one year
- Completed a Leadership Institute course or demonstrate significant skill and knowledge relevant to course content
- Proven experience working in a leadership role with pre-college age students preferred.
- A positive, can-do attitude with the proven ability to follow through on assignments.
- Energy and enthusiasm.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student body and staff.
- Team player.
- Preference will be given to those with valid Lifeguard certification (or ability to complete certification by program start).
- A criminal background check is required of finalists for this position. Candidates will not be permitted to begin work in this position until completion of a criminal background check deemed satisfactory to Brown.
