Booking your flights

Please note that if you are arriving/departing outside of the program dates, we cannot provide accommodations pre/post program.
Facebook group page
We have created a Student Group on Facebook to provide a forum for students to connect directly with each other to arrange travel to Madrid. To access, the student must be a Facebook member. Visit Brown University Global Programs in Segovia, Spain 2013 and request to join. This is a private group accessible only for students officially enrolled in the Segovia program. Members must be approved by the group administrator.
Airport Pick-up and Transfer
- Students are met at the Madrid Barajas International Airport by Brown/IE staff to transfer you to the IE campus in Segovia. After students claim their luggage and go through Customs, they will connect with program staff at the ARRIVALS area.

- Current passport (valid for at least 3 months after the end of the program)

- Prescription medicine, including inhalers and epi-pens (in their original packaging to avoid delays at airport security)
- Cell phone activated for international use (Optional: www.travelcell.com, international phone rental)
- Adapter plug that supports universal voltage 110V-240V

Computers
Students are not required to bring their laptop computers but are welcome to do so. There is wireless internet everywhere on IE University campus. Alternatively, computer labs are available for student use.
Spending Money
Plan to bring between 300-500€ in spending money. The most convenient way is to acquire a prepaid credit card which can be used as a credit or ATM card. Visa or Mastercard are most widely accepted.
Another alternative is to use your bank ATM card; be sure to have your bank activate your card for overseas use before your departure. Cash can also be easily exchanged at the airport or at several locations in the city but there is a usually an additional exchange fee for this service.
IE University Hall of Residence

- All rooms are equipped with en-suite bathroom
- All rooms have wireless broadband internet
- Each student will have their own key to their room
- All rooms are fitted with bed and bathroom linen
- Student bedrooms and communal areas are cleaned daily (except for weekends)
- Clothes laundry – coin operated machines are available on campus (3.50€). There is a laundry service every Tuesday (2.50€ per kilogram); clothes will be returned on Thursday.
HTH Insurance
Each student participating in a Summer@Brown Global Program is automatically enrolled in the HTH Worldwide health insurance plan which provides service and protection in the event a student becomes ill or injured while abroad. Students will be emailed instructions on how to register for the insurance plan.
