Photoshop is not able to use the scanners to import scanned images into photoshop, it says that the scanner cannot be found. However, the Epson scanning program still works and does scan documents and create image files. No idea what may have caused it to go wrong. A restart fixed the problem (the problem cropped up on multiple computers).
