Join ISG on January 28, 2013 for a timely colloquium focused on the issue of personal privacy as well as organizational confidentiality. We welcome three speakers who will offer different perspectives on privacy: as a basic human right, the legal foundations protecting privacy, and managing information confidentially here at Brown.
The event is being held on Data Privacy Day, a world-wide observance occurring on January 28th each year since 2008. It also caps a month long effort to raise awareness about data privacy, which features online presentations on privacy and mobile devices (Are You Smarter Than Your Phone?) and social media (It's Not Just Facebook! - What Every College Student Should Know About Online Privacy). Though registration isn't required and drop-ins are welcome (you may attend one or more sessions as your schedule permits), we invite you to indicate your interest as it will let us plan resources for the event.
Light refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon, plus all those attending the event will be entered in a drawing for a Brown Bookstore gift certificate.
