IT Project Review Committee (ITPRC)

Goals of the Process:

  1. Acknowledge that there will always be more demand than resources and that IT projects that are undertaken are those of the highest priority for the university.
  2. Identify new IT projects or changes to current systems early in the idea development process, so that appropriate offices can weigh in on the project, its need and priority before further research is done.
  3. Make it as easy as possible to submit a project for early review by the ITPRC before substantial work is done on the solution(s).
  4. Ensure early in the process that the proposal has support for submission to the ITPRC from the appropriate university officers. University Officers will gage the importance of the proposal against other known needs, i.e. not every good idea that arises for new systems will make it into the process.
  5. Make the process for upgrading and adding new systems transparent to staff in the university. Everyone will understand how to advance an idea through the process.
  6. Apply CIS staff to the projects that are of the highest importance to the university.
