Adobe Acrobat 6 ready for download

Software Services has announced that Acrobat 6 and other new titles, or updates to existing products, are now available on Brown's software download page:

Windows

Adobe Acrobat 6 (for Win 2000/XP)
PCTeX 5.0 (for Win 2000/XP)

Macintosh

Adobe Acrobat 6 (for OS 10.2.2+)
Matlab 5.21 (for OS 9)
Stata 8 (for OS 10.2+)
Studio MX 2003 (for OS 9)

Please notify the Help Desk (help@brown.edu or 3-HELP) if you have any problems with these installers.

Wireless users: new Subscriber Service ID

Beginning 11/24, all campus wireless users will see a single SSID (Subscriber Service ID). The new SSID is "Brown". This change simplifies client configuration settings for users who had been unable to specify a 'default' or 'any' SSID in their profile. Those users can now setup a Brown profile that will connect anywhere wireless coverage is available. For all other users, this change should be transparent. <more about wireless at Brown>

Web publishing software Studio MX '04 released

Software Services has released the webpublishing toolkit Studio MX '04, now available for download from their Software Distribution page, http://www.brown.edu/software. This suite of applications includes: Dreamweaver MX 2004, Flash MX 2004, Fireworks MX 2004 and more.

This version of Dreamweaver not only includes a more useful interface but has the added benefit of support secure FTIP transfers. Web publishers can now use DW MX to securely connect to the Brown web server.

Studio MX 2004 is available both for Windows and Mac users, though the latter must be running at least Mac OS 10.2.6.

Please notify the Help Desk, at 3-HELP or help@brown.edu, should you have any problems with these installers.

For Macintosh: Endnote 7, Photoshop 7, CFS for OSX, and MacVector 7.2.
For Windows: Endnote 7 and Sigmaplot 8.
