Virus Advisory: December 2003

Virus/Trojan - Downloader.MSCache, Trojan.Sinkin, Trojan.dropper and Others

Several trojans have surfaced on campus, typically on student computers. Infection can take place through (but is not limited to) AOL Instant Messenger, Kazaa, and unpatched Internet Explorer browsers. Spyware left on the infected computer can be removed with spyware removal software such as Spybot Search & Destroy.

If you think you have been infected with any of these viruses, perform a Norton AntiVirus LiveUpdate and a full virus scan. The following links to Symantec pages provide virus removal information:
