These pages are designed to give you a brief overview of the V oice O ver I nternet P rotocol services offered by Telecom.
The Telecommunications and Network Technology Groups have been working on a project that upgraded Brown's telephone system to provide VoIP telephone services.
The CIS group at Davol Square was the initial test group to receive this service.
Current plans do not include replacing existing TDM equipment because costly modifications to the network infrastructure are required to support VoIP, however we do plan to deploy this service to new or remodeled locations.
