Brown Summer High School (BSHS) challenges students
to engage their minds in tackling big questions. By becoming
active participants in the learning experience, BSHS students
develop essential skills in reading, writing, speaking, and
critical thinking. We seek students like you...ready to act,
build, share and create, ready to discover learning both
inside and beyond the classroom.

Held on the Brown University campus, the program
invites students to select two of three possible courses.
Each course offers students an innovative learning
environment where they work in small groups, participate
in discussions, conduct laboratory experiments, and
engage in numerous hands-on activities. Conferences with
instructors are a regular part of the program. Students are
expected to complete take-home assignments.

With a total enrollment of approximately 200 students
and a faculty of more than 50 instructors, all students
will receive individual attention. Regardless of their plans
beyond high school, students will develop skills and
insights valuable to all of their future endeavors.
