Fair-trade means that growers are paid above market prices that ensure sustainable farms. It also means less pressure to use pesticides (many of our daily brews are also certified organic). Growers can concentrate on producing quality beans and teas. Believe us, you can taste the difference. And it's a win for the environment, workers and you.
We get our coffees and teas through Equal Exchange, a Boston-based fair-trade merchant, and Autocrat, a family-run distributor based in Lincoln, Rhode Island. We also sell Equal Exchange fair-trade chocolate in the Blue Room and Campus Market.
It's all part of Brown Dining's Community Harvest commitment to supporting small growers and sustainable communities.
