The Graduate School will confer doctoral and master's degrees on Sunday, May 27, 2012. Graduate students intending to complete this May should review the following essential steps in preparing for Commencement.

The University can only graduate and generate diplomas for students who file an "Application to Graduate.” Students expecting to receive a diploma this May will be able to apply to graduate online using self-service Banner. This application also enables you to list your name as you would like it to appear on your diploma.

The “Application to Graduate” feature is made available by the Registrar's Office in Banner Web beginning in mid January. The application must be submitted no later than May 1.

You can access secure Banner Web by clicking on the link above or from the University homepage. Once logged in, select the Student Records menu and select the Application to Graduate menu item.

Other steps:

1. Please read the information on the Commencement website, including the Commencement events schedule and the Commencement A-Z guide.
2. Please use the registration system to indicate whether you will participate in the Commencement ceremony, and to record your honors and awards.
3. Rent or purchase academic regalia by May 1.
