Admitted students should consider visiting the campus and the Providence area before beginning their courses of study. The Graduate School recommends that students contact their departments in advance of their visits in order to schedule meetings with faculty or students during the visit. The University website is a good resource for information about visiting the campus, with directions and tips on transportation, hotels and other lodging options in the area. New international students should contact the Office of International Student and Scholar Services for specific information about coming to Brown from another country.
International students interested in socializing with an American host family can join the Friendship Program, sponsored by the International House of Rhode Island. Visit the International House's website for more details and an application.
