During CIS' Disaster Recovery infrastructure test on Saturday, October 25 between 6:00 am and 10:00 am, you will not be able to change your Brown password, access iTunesU, and may find that other services are unstable.

If you are receiving a password error when trying to access your Brown Google Email, please visit myaccount.brown.edu and select Change Google Password. The video below shows the process in more detail. Should you still have any issues, please report them to the IT Service Center by emailing Help@brown.edu or by calling 401-863-4357.

We are aware of a problem with Workday and are working to identify and resolve the issue.  Functionality that may be impacted by this problem includes: all Human Resources and Financial functions.

Facilities has notified CIS that there are some campus wide power outages occurring. 

Currently some affected areas may experience a loss in network connectivity.

We are monitoring the situation and will update this alert if any other CIS systems become affected.

Starting at 12pm on Friday 10/17, several systems will be unavailable because of the upgrade of Brown's Identity Management System. These systems are MyAccount (Brown's account management website), Activate (for the activation of new Brown accounts), and the Forgot Password functionality which allows you to reset a forgotten password with a mobile phone number.

New versions of these services will be available on Monday, October 20th by the start of business hours.

Workday is running normally.


Workday is currently down. It is expected to be up and running by 6:00pm EST.

The Turnitin assignment submission feature in Canvas may be intermittently unavailable during a scheduled maintenance period on Saturday, October 11, 2014, from 10 AM to 1 PM. Please address any questions to itg@brown.edu.
