RESOLVED:

We have stabilized the issue with slow response while searching oncourses.brown.edu.  

 

 

 

We are aware of a problem with Course Preview Pages and are working to identify and resolve the issue. Some users are experiencing very slow response times using courses.brown.edu, especially when using the Search function and when logged in

As of now, the problem with registering devices on the wireless network is resolved and it should be fully functional.

We are currently experiencing a problem with the portal for registering devices on the wireless network.  
Note that wireless services are NOT affected by this problem, only the registration of printing and gaming devices.

RESOLVED: courses. brown.edu is not working properly.


We are aware of a problem with the Search function within Courses.brown.edu and are working to identify and resolve the issue.  Functionality that may be impacted by this problem includes: access to the courses.brown.edu learning management system to view course materials.

CIS is experiencing issues with the PRLDPAR2 server, which houses many databases

Databases affected include

DB - Banner (Banner, BRM, Luminis, WorkFlow, BDMS), Coeus, Resource 25, Odyssey, AppWorx, FIS (Faculty Info System), BedeWork (Campus Calendaring), RMAN Catalog, Dimensions, Granite (Med School), OIM, BAT (WD Brown Account Tagger),ADV Campus Call

the upgrade is completed and the Echo360 service is back up and running. 

 

 

CIS will be performing an upgrade for Lecture Capture Echo360 on Tuesday 8/26. The upgrade will start at 2:45 AM and will be completed by 7:00 AM. During that time faculty and students will not be able to access Echo lectures for playback.

RESOLVED-Users are now able to login to Macintosh computers in the public labs


The Macintosh computers located in CIS public labs and classrooms are not allowing users to login.  The MML and ETC labs are also affected.  CIS is currently working on the problem.

Due to scheduled electrical work at the medical school building, all services provided by Biomed Computer Services will be unavailable from 6pm on Friday 8/22 through 10am on Saturday 8/23. Major unavailable services include the BIOMEDCSOSERVER file server, the Biomed-only Filemaker server, and LearningSpace (exam room video).

The following services WILL NOT be affected: All websites; Oasis; Banner; Workday; Google Apps; COEUS; Electronic Medical Student Record; Canvas; Echo 360.

The Production environment upgrade to Cognos 10.2.1 will occur this weekend, starting on Saturday 8/16 at 6:00 AMOur expectation is to have the system back up and operational by 3:00 PM on Saturday, but if problems arise, it could be down until 5:00 PM. After the upgrade, the first time you log into Cognos you'll see the new version, which will look different.

While the upgrade is taking place, you will not be able to access Cognos Production. If you have reports or jobs scheduled to run during the upgrade, they will run after the upgrade is complete. Reports and jobs scheduled to run prior to 6:00 AM on Saturday 8/16 will run successfully provided they finish executing by 6:00 AM.
