Linda Jennifer Peters Mahdesian, class of 1982

Linda Jennifer Peters Mahdesian grew up in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from Brown in 1982 with a an AB in English Literature. She has worked for the Rhode Island Hospital, Brown University's Leadership Alliance, the Brown News Bureau, and as a realtor in the Providence area. 

Linda Peters Mahdesian begins this interview by talking about her family background in Chicago, Illinois; her reasons for choosing Brown; the experience of bi-racial students at Brown; and the Women's Movement on campus. In Part 2, she discusses her jobs after graduation; hiring of minority faculty; and the choices that women have to make as a result of the gains of the Women's Movement. In Part 3, she discusses the example set for her by her mother; the difference between undergraduate and graduate studies; her experience as a minority woman in the workplace; and her efforts to help change minds, attitudes and policies.
