Marjorie Phillips Wood Burroughs, class of 1911

Marjorie Phillips Wood Burroughs grew up in Taunton, Massachusetts and attended the Women's College from 1907 until 1911, where she studied History and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After graduating from Brown she became a librarian, and worked in the foreign language department of the Widener Library at Harvard for more than twenty years. She retired in 1940, and in 1944, married Leroy F. Burroughs, '12. At the time of her death in 1992, Marjorie Burroughs was living in Providence and 103 years old.
