Guest Wireless Access Account Creation

Guests to Brown's campus can connect to the Brown-Guest wireless network without any prior account creation by Brown staff.  However, if you are hosting a conference or other event, we recommend creating Guest accounts to provide your visitors more bandwidth and services.

The Guest Accounts service allows campus staff to create guest access accounts for visitors who are on campus for a short time, including: conference attendees, guest speakers, etc. There are two types of guest access that can be created:

  • EZ_IDs, which can be used for up to 8 days for access to the Brown_EZ wireless network.  It is OK to share an EZ_ID with more than one person (e.g. a whole classroom)
  • Guest IDs, which can be used for up to 30 days and allow access to not only Brown_EZ, but also Brown-Secure and wired ethernet connection.  These may only be used by one person.
