Scholar Athlete: How to Apply

You're a Great Student - and a Great Athlete.

Selection Criteria

The Scholar-Athlete Program is open to any student who has completed the 9th grade, as long as they meet course and admission requirements. Applying students should have a high school 3.0 GPA or above.

How to Apply

A complete application consists of four items:

  1. A Completed Online Application
  2. A Teacher's Recommendation
  3. A complete official high school transcript including your most recent grade report.
  4. The application fee (see below). Note for International students: Because of the difficulty and expense of forwarding money internationally, we will waive the application fee until after an admission review.

Course Selection:

Use the standard Pre-College application procedures outlined above. Select the course as your first choice, and choose one of the following sport courses as your second choice:
TNNS-1C: Tennis
SWIM-1C: Swimming

Once we have received your complete application, our admission committee will review it and make a decision within ten days. You will be notified of the decision by email. We do not read incomplete applications, so check with your school to be sure your recommendations and transcripts were actually sent to us.

3/1/2009 to 4/30/2009: $60
5/1/2009 on:$90
Please make a check or money order payable to Brown University with your name and course code on the notation line. Application fees and program deposits are non-refundable.

International students: To help avoid the expense of forwarding money internationally, we will waive the application fee until after an admission review.
